"Well, first of all, even though, on the first sight, I found the general idea and approach of DR.K quite similar to mine, I think one of the biggest differences is, that it's produced from a DJs kind of perspective. the "sampling" and "track" concept clearly stands out as such and each song seems to be a historical patchwork of bits and pieces one seems to know. In that sense it's perhaps closer to what Towa Tei was doing on "future listening", also vibe-wise I think. I'm hearing the "track" idea being merged with the "song" idea. For that very same reason I realized it's actually quite different from what I'm doing (since I tend not to unmask a sample as such...or..."sampling" in the strict sense is not really a topic to me), that same difference, I think, makes Dr.K’s music probably compatible to the dancefloor and the living room at the same time.
